My 8 months son first time urine culture and sensitive report shown e-coli colony count was > 100,000/ml and all other results are shown normal then Doctor given injection Amikacin 100 mg x 5 days. Second time report also given the same result. I went to another Pediatrician, who screen thoroughly and informed that there is no symptoms of UTI, so he is suggested to stop all the antibiotics after one week again advised to take the culture and sensitive test. Now e coli colony count is 70,000/ml and advised to take abdomen ultra sonic. Ultra Sonic all results are shown normal. Pediatrician prescribed to Gentamicin 20 mg twice a day for 5 days. And also he informed that next time if you get the positive, you have to go kidney specialist. I am very worried about his statement. Is anything serious, please can you give me the details. Thank you.
