Whats the best way to adjust your valves? Iv'e already tryed adjusting them using my repair manual, they still are not right. I heard you can adjust them better with it running, and lossen it then tighten it still it stops from ticking.Whats the easiest way? its a 78 chevy scottsdale with a 350 all stock. Can I adjust the valves with a feeler gauge and if so how much?

they are hydraulic lifters, and you should adjust the lash to "zero".

adjust them when the engine is idling, and between the point where the tapping stops, and where you hear it starting to mis-fire, right in the middle.
