Ok, so a friend of my mothers has a 78 chevy sitting in a drainage ditch in front of her house. Its been sitting for 1 to 3 years or so i'm told. It wouldn't start so after cleaning connections thoroughly on the starter and putting in a new battery she fired up like the good ol' chevy that she is. I put her in drive and nothing. Reverse was catching a little bit but slipping pretty bad. After adding a couple quarts of Dexron reverse worked great but still nothing from the forward gears. Drive, 1st and 2nd are all like neutral. I'm probably going to try a fluid and filter change but i doubt it will help. Any Ideas? Apparently she ran great until one day she wouldn't start so was left there.
