Nokia have announced their 7610 imaging device, the company's first megapixel camera phone. Encased in dual-tone ruby and onyx-colored covers, the slim Nokia 7610 phone offers capturing, printing, storing and sending of photo-quality images and videos on the Series 60 Platform. The tri-band model is planned to be available during the second quarter of 2004 in two variants, GSM 900/1800/1900 and GSM 850/1800/1900. More curvy shapes from Nokia
The phone includes print functionality, whereby pictures can be turned into prints in just a few seconds via a Bluetooth connection to a compatible printer or by using a printer kiosk available in Nokia-branded retail locations or other photo shops. Using the Kodak Pictures application on the phone, pictures can be uploaded to a virtual photo album on the web and shared online with others or ordered as prints via an online service. The Nokia 7610 phone offers a 65,000 color screen for viewing still images and video captured by the integrated camera and watching real-time video streaming using the built-in RealOne mobile player. The megapixel (1152 X 864) camera features a high-quality lens, 4x digital zoom, and a self-timer. The Nokia 7610 imaging device also allows users to capture images in low-light conditions.

Nokia 7610 users can create short films or even music videos of up to 10 minutes by shooting and editing the footage captured with their imaging device. By using the Movie Director application, users can turn video clips captured with their Nokia 7610 into personal movies by adding special effects such as music, text, new colors or moving objects. The application automatically combines multiple video clips into a single video vignette or optimizes the edited videos for MMS sending. The Nokia 7610 also includes the new Nokia Lifeblog application, which adds an automatic digital diary to the pockets of trendsetters. The phone application records and organizes digital content - such as images, videos or messages - creating a personal logbook or multimedia memo directly on the phone. When transferred to Nokia Lifeblog on the PC, people can browse and search their multimedia diary in an easy to use timeline or share diary items with friends or family via email.

The other key features of the Nokia 7610 include rich Multimedia Messaging, email, and MP3/AAC music player, Internet browser, 72MB of expandable memory, USB, Bluetooth connectivity and support for Java technology. The 118 gram, 93cc phone offers up to 3 hours talk-time and 250 hours of standby time.

Doesnt have InfraRed (as it is infrared sux) :)

Onboard memory :A mamoth 8 or 72 mb (sum say 8 sum say 72 but ill stick to 8 mb coz dunt think nokia wll ever include so much memory in a mid range smart fone).64 mb mmc card with reduction in size ;)

cutting it short ill say if u own the 6600 or the 3660 no need to get this but if ur caught by its looks and camera beauty n rez go for it (coz nothing different compared to 6600 except its cam,looks and mp3 player and browser support)

for others owning a 7650 or 3650 or sum1 whu wants to buy a series 60 smartfone from nokia look no further. :thumbsup:

@m0j0_j0j0 Why some say 72mb it's cos they are adding the 8mb internal with the 64mb rsmmc = 72mb ;)
 
Nice phone,... really cool features but is it true that it is lacking in infrared? If it is then it's a pity cuz infrared's very useful,... don't really need bluetooth,... my comp/laptop does not have bluetooth and not much people have bluetooth enabled phones here,.... anyhow,... i think it's a good phone ....

I've just recently bought the Nokia 7610 phone.
It's an excellent phone but I am having trouble using the "Contacts and Messages" option in the PC Suite. I have also upgraded the PC Suite from v 6.1 in the package to v 6.2 from the Nokia website.
I have been able to sync the phone with Outlook 2003, however, I get an error message of "Phone not compatible" when i try to edit contacts and messages on the phone from a laptop computer (connected by cable or bluetooth).
Have you tried editing your contacts on the phone using your computer? Would appreciate your help if you've been able to use this feature.

The phone is already on ebay, u can get an unlocked. I think bt is much better than infared. U can use the bt with ur laptop or navigation system if u have one that bt.
 
Forget what i said about the lack of infrared, this is a [textglow]HOT [/textglow] phone!!!!:thumbsup: :boink:
 
man i love my 7610! i picked it up in the philippines it is quite the awsome phone! i like taking pictures
 
Yeah,... and u would love it even more when u download 3rd party apps,... like UltraMP3 player - Plays MP3 files and some others.... pity the speaker is mono though....
