ok i got a good offer on the 748 from one of our customers at ECS, so i decided to sell now im stuck with a choice and an extremely tough one at that im exploring 3 options maybe some outside insight may help. Here it goes, I'm looking at a 2004 aprilia RSV 1000 2900k, a 2009/2010 hypermotard 1100 or considering a 796 because of my size (150lbs 5'11'') or a used 848. I like to ride on the street but plan on riding the track once in a while, what would you guys suggest?

I think you need to first decide on the type (SBK/Supermoto) of motorcycle you want. Then move on to the pro's/ cons and keep your budget in mind at all times.

Buy my 848. haha.

I've read a couple things about the main bearing, supposedly this issue has been updated in the '09 '10 models. SUPPOSEDLY.

I've seen people put a couple thousand track miles with no issues as well.. it's all warrantied in any case.. at least with mine. 2010, will have about 1k miles and Ducati Ever-Red warranty.

I had a Hyper 1100S, now have the 1198. Had many other bikes before them R1, 900RR, etc...

848 would be close in ergo's just down on power...

Riding the Hyper at the track was a lot of effort to go fast at least for me. I'm more than 4 seconds faster on the superbike at my regular track, but you'd expect that.

Hyper is more comfortable around town but makes you want to be a hooligan with the instant wheelies everywhere.

All and all for light street riding and track a few times a year - 848. Or pony up the 1198R.
