My'73 Dodge Dart used to run good but had some starting problem recently. I had to crank for quite a while before the car started. The last time it took so long that the battery was so low that I had to jump start the car. My mechanic replaced the spark plugs, the spark cables. He said the car then started but went of again and the ignition module was burned through. He replaced the module- burned through again and now the car won't start at all - it's only cranking. He replaced the alternator- nothing changed. He gave up on the job- so has someone an idea where the problem might come from or at least a good address in LA where I can have the car repaired? Thanks!

Whats nice about old cars like yours is that there are only 3 things that it needs to start, and run... Air, Fuel, and Spark. Why dont you start off by seeing if the car is getting a fuel. The filter could be pluged, and it is not getting gas the full time. LIsten for the fuel pump. I would give that a try before you go and spend who knows how much on something you can fix just by going to your local auto parts store.
