70's Horror Film Fans................

..............may be interested to know that that Tales from the Crypt with Joan Collins, Peter Cushing and many more fine British character actors is on the Sci Fi channel at 11 30 tonight.
Dont open that open for Santa, Joan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tales from the crypt one of my fav films ever being murdered tro the sound of comfort and joy must be so liberating

some people live in the city some in the town....poor mr grimsdyke

Loved the creeping flesh with cushing

That was not actually a proper film.

It was Dario Argentos 1984/5 movie called Phenomena with almost 40 minutes edited out.

It was hard to follow and a lot of nonsense in its uncut form but Creepers made it worse.

IIRC Phenomena is out uncut on R2 these days but if not check out the R1 which has copious extras

One of my fave old style horrors is the House of the Long Shadows which starred Peter Cushing ,Christopher Lee , Vincent Price and John Carradine.

I got so sick of waiting for a dvd release (which is apparently in legal limbo) that I bought an LD player and LD of the film on ebay and transferred that to dvd.

Check it out if you can.

Price ,Lee and Cushing also appear in the AIP classic Scream and Scream Again

One of my favourie horror movies from that era is The House That Dripped Blood. I love the fact Christopher Lee is sitting beside the fire reading The Lord Of The Rings.

Just watched: Scream and Scream Again.
Despite the misleading generic title this is a great movie: a conspiracy thriller with Vincent Price, Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing (the only film in which all three appear AFAIK) with a plot so fragmented it makes your head spin, a great, gruesome running gag, some truly dire acting and a Pearl & Dean soundtrack.
Oh, and a serial killer vampire/cyborg called Keith.
What more could you ask for in a horror movie?

Also recently seen: Taste the Blood of Dracula, the only Hammer Dracula movie worth watching, as it actually has a story, isn't directed by Terence (Tedious) Fisher and has a great cast of character actors: John Carson, Peter Sallis, Roy Kinnear and the great Geoffrey Keen in addition to the usual Hammer rep company.
Also lots of heaving bosoms (Isla Blair, Linda Hayden (tm)), assorted dodgy Victorian deviancies and Martin Jarvis. Love it.:)

Still awaiting: Blood on Satan's Claw and The Satanic Rites of Dracula.

I think the BBC has been listening in to our convo because ever since I mentioned bringing back Friday night horror they have been doing just that... ?
