7 year old is said toi have allergies

My seven year old had an allergic reaction to something and his lip swelled up and he had a rash all over his body. He was admitted and the good doctor put him on an intervenous of sterioRAB and benadryl. He improved immediately and was released. He has a runny nose all year round and a cough a lot of the time. The doctors say he has allergies. We just don't know what he is allergic to.
 
Do they not do allergy test on children in Canada? It's very common here. SounRAB like a food allergy. What had he eaten?
 
He hadn't eaten anything out of the ordinary. Yes, I may look into allergy testing.
 
Well, it doesn't have to be anything out of the ordinary. You can become allergic to something overnight. I'd look at what he was eating shortly before -esp if it was fruit.
