7 months post op... FEELING HORRIBLE!!!! Help!

Hello everyone... I need some help/ advice. I have an L4/L5 laminectomy and discectomy back in Deceraber. About 2 months after I felt GREAT! It's now 7 months later and I feel horrible. My back is always sore and my hips and right leg hurt. I'm getting the tingling in the front of my leg again and I can't even go to the movies with being in pain. After a 2 hour movie I can barely walk out of there. I'm only 28 and I was wondering is this it? I am going to feel like this from now on? I feel miserable... any advice. I was also wondering if any of you know if I could ask a dr if there's a way to get a better bed covered by my insurance. I can't sleep on mine it hurts so bad. :(

I had a disectomy and bi-lateral decompression (L45), i was fine for for 5 months until the same disc prolapsed again.
I went for an emergency mri scan i now have a tear in the disc above (L34) . 18 months later and a discograph,epidural,facett joint injections and a full plaster cast i am on the urgent list for a 3 level fusion. Hope youre are not anything like this, just sharing my experiences, :confused:

Unfortunately, it's time to let your surgeon know about this. You should have a new MRI done to see if you have re-herniated that disc. It's something that isn't uncommon and in fact, happened to me after my first surgery.

Please let us know what your doctor says.

Oh boy... thanks for the scare!! Actually it's nice to hear the truth. Good and the bad. I was thinking it would be time for another MRI but since it was a worker's comp case and now I'm off worker's comp and had to change my career due to the injury I just got new insurance. Now I need to find a new Orthopedic and get all my recorRAB. Workman's comp sent me to 3 different surgeons. Do I need all the recorRAB or just the 1 who did the surgery?
 
Hi Mine is a workers comp case as well. If you had an attorney get in touch with them right away. It is my understanding that a workers comp case is never fully closed. You may need to reopen it again. Kathy

I am 28 too and also have very similar problems! So sorry to hear that you are suffering even after your surgery. Did you go back to the surgeon? It could be that another level has ruptured? I hate to even mention that but that is what happened to me. I had my first discectomy when I was 18 and had to have another one on the next level up when I was 20.

I sure do hope you have gotten some answers.

How did your injury happen?? Or did you never have an injury (like me!)?

I did call my lawyer and he had them reopen the case. Although the surgeon that did my surgery moved and is now 1/2 hour away I would rather go to him being that he knows me and my situation. I am going to his office on the 12th. I have my first apt with the workman's comp dr on the 13th. They are getting ready for my settlement. It stinks that now it's coming back though. Not only am I getting the same soreness on the right side but now I'm getting alot of the sharp burning pains on the left side too. I just want to feel better.

I've been doing great and the dr is going to be suprised when he sees me. I've lost 25lbs since March.
 
I had my l5/s1 fusion in January. I have a pain dr appt thursday and plan to ask for more xrays or mri. My hip pain, left leg nurabness and giving out, along with spasms has gotten bad again. The tail bone pain is still not returning, so that is good. Im scared of what I may find out but I cant stay this way. Best wishes on your drs appts and I pray you will not have to continue dealing with ongoing problems.
