6g of substance,using71.4g to pull it out of carrier.?

If I have 6g of a substance locked inside a carrier, and I use 71.4g of another chemical to pull it out of the carrier, then I drop the quantity of original substance to 4.8g, wouldn't I also need to drop the chemical used to pull it out to 57.12?
