6131 Receiver and $100 Bill Credit

Without threatening to Cancel Bell, is there a way (has anyone been successful) in getting the 6131 from Bell/Futureshop/Bestbuy/etc for whatever price with the $100 Bill Credit from Bell?

If so, how?

In January, with the SuperBowl special offer the 9242 was 499$ minus 100$ discount for new customers at FS instead of 599 on Bell website.

We called Bell and asked what they could do for us since we were with them for a long time. After maybe 5 min of discussion, the CSR finally transfered me to the "loyalty departement" and they told me to go get the 9242 at FS and to give us the difference of the offer in programation credit wich for us is about 4 months of billing.

Well I didn't threaten to cancel, but I choose the 'Cancel Programming' option from the IVR and got to the Loyalty (Retentions) department.

I basically said what you wrote above 'Is there anything you can do for me so that I can get the 6131 HD Receiver for the $99 you offer new customers?'.

Since I already have 30% off for 12 months and 9242 Rental free for 12 months, she couldnt place $100 credit on my account without also charging me $75 to send a tech out (Not sure why, but whatever).

She then instead said for me to go buy it at Bell/futureshop/etc and they will place 2 month free credit on my account to make up for the $100 credit (with my 30% discount, my bill expressvu bill is usually around $90 - so thats $180 saved).

Since The Source is pretty much sold out everywhere from for the $149 (-$100 credit) deal, I will just buy it at Futureshop or Bestbuy for the regular $199 price using my Citi Petro Mastercard.

Get Citi to refund me $50 using their Price Protection - since The Source has it for $149.

In the end It will be
$199 - Bestbuy Purchase on Citi Petro Card
-$50 - Citi Credit - Price Protection - The Source advertised $149
-$180 - 2 Months free Bell Credit

= Spent Nothing and received $31 + 6131 HD Receiver :D
