I have been a NOKIA 6010 and 3595 user for several years.
VERY SIMPLE needs!

All I want from a NOKIA (or other) phone that I don't have now is the best possible speakerphone, the rest of the features are "gravy."
My desires are:
1.) Good voice quality, outgoing and incoming.
2.) Good speakerphone.
3.) Being able to hear the darned thing ring.

I just tried an old 6200 in good shape, and couldn't hear the ring, and the incoming audio was far too quiet.

So, if the 6131 does not meet my very simple requirements, which NOKIA or other phone does?

Priced around $300 or less, + or -

Thanks,
Andrew

Consider the 6230b. There are tons around for reasonable prices, and you can get it to work as a very good plain phone without its many other features getting in the way. I didn't find any ringtones quite as ear-splitting as the 6190's "City bee", but it's got some fairly loud ones.

The 3220 is the 6230b's younger sibling. One feature of the 3220 is a notably louder earpiece (and it's pretty clear at high volume, too). It was quite a bit louder and clearer than anything else in the Rogers line-up that I tried last January. I don't know whether the 3220's built-in ringtone selection includes what you want.

The 6230b is also a great RF phone, but he can get the most out of his money with the 6230i. I dont like the form of the 3220, seems like a kids phone to me, but thats just me

I am on Cingular, so it would have to be a 6230b to get 850MHz which I need in my area. I agree with your 3220 assessment, it is just not the phone for me.

Where do I buy a 6126 from????
There are places selling 6131's but I have not seen a 6126 anywhere and Cingular has not released it?

Andrew

6131's can be bought on ebay, and other gsm importers, check the marketplace, they have som good prices there on 6131, word is, the 6126 will not be released on cingular. Ive been hearing they sell the 6126 on Canada now. I think the only operator carrying the 6126 is SunCom
