I got an email today with a "Special $60 Pay per view credit" because they appreciate my loyalty.
http://digitaltv.comm.bell.ca/cgi-bin/belldtv_em.dll?hts:x=116171&y=740&z=436470

When You click on the link in the message or the page above it takes you to a bell sign in page where you need to log in with your Bell.com login. On the next page it gives you the options:
1. Receive a 25% discount on the retail price when you purchase a receiver and sign up for a new 2-year service term with ExpressVu.
2. Receive 6 months of free rental when you add or upgrade a receiver and sign up for a new 2-year service term with ExpressVu.
3. Receive credits of up to $60 on Pay-Per-View orders when you sign up for a new 2-year service term with ExpressVu. Your Pay-Per-View orders will be credited up to a maximum of $60 over the next 2 years.
4. Receive a one-time credit of $40 on your account when you sign up for a new 2-year service term with ExpressVu. Why not use your credit to enhance your programming selection or to order Pay-Per-View movies and events?

Or the big No Thanks button on the bottom.

I'm wondering what will happen if I call them and ask to take this offer but I want the 30% off my bill I'm getting extended to the full 2 years plus the additional credits.

"Sorry, you're not eligible for a term renewal offer at this time. Visit the promotions page to learn more about our current offers."

Been BEV customer for 6 years, Cells for 13++ years and just ended a 1 year contract with 9200 rental. I spend $350/month on bell products (Cells and all) and they say I AM NOT ELEIGBLE !

Ok I get the hint.

It looks like it could be region specific. When you look at the link it shows EDM and I note the OP lives in ... Edmonton.

I got one of those offers in the mail, with a link to a web page to make a choice. Almost 3 years as a customer and this is the best they can do?? I outright own 6 of their receivers, including a 6 month old 9242.
If I was a new subscriber, the offer would be w-a-y better! May as well cancel and maybe come back in 6 months as a "new" subscriber, and take all the goodies they offer!
This offer is almost an insult, and certainly doesn't contain anything that would make me sign a 2 year contract!! :(

Bell: We would like to thank you for being such a loyal customer.
Customer: Well thank you.
Bell: We appreciate your loyalty so much we're willing go give you a 60$ Pay Per View Credit.
Customer: Wow ! That's great.
Bell: In addition you have the added benefit of being locked in a contract for an additional 2 years.
Customer: Uhh..
Bell: Shall I sign you up ?

Couldn't they give you the 60$ credit and say that if you leave Bell then you have to refund this credit.

This is how Rogers home Phone got me to swtich from Bell. They offered me 10$ off a month for the first year of service. There was NO contract, but if I cancelled my service before the 1 year I would have to repay the savings... It still left me a way out if I did not like their services

I just received my loyalty credit letter.
I have never been under contract with Bell
Have lot of money in HD model 6000 receiver
and a grandfathered HD plan.
Not many viable alternative choices in Windsor
so unlikely to jump to another digital service provider
So in return for agreeing to a two year contract
I can get a $60 PPV credit or $40 bill credit.
drawback is a $200 penalty if I cancel in 1st year
or $100 if I cancel in the 2nd year.
Penalty is more than the credit I would be receiving!
Any comments on this?

It is not much for being a loyal customer at all.

There is no mention of them giving you a 9242 for the next 2 years free or anything to do with a new receiver. So I would say it is garbage.

They expect you to run your own 6000 for the next 2 years for a $60 PPV credit.? Ha.

What if it dies in the next month or so, you are out $200.....

Call and tell them you are moving to Cable.....

Sounds like i'm not eligible either...

Been with EV for about 5-6 years...
Been on a rental contract for 2X3100 (at 10.99 for the first and 7.99 the second, yes those where the rental cost back then) for the first year (they haven't explained that installation will be free on a 2 years), then on a 1 year rental for a 5900. After that I bought 2X5900 (which I sold recently, then a 9200. When my 9200 broke I bought a 9242 that i'm currently using with the 9200 replacement they shipped me
My programming cost me about 70$/month

And I can not even have a 60$ free PPV?

You haven't read the fine print. You must flip the letter over and look at that small printing that looks like a couple of little stripes on the back.

I received the same letter, I'm in the Vancouver area. The offers aren't really too exciting for a 2 year commitment. I haven't been under contract since 2006.

I did cancel once and signed up again 3 months later, same address. Got a much better deal...

I received the letter via email, & the link wouldn't work when I clicked on it.
I feared by clicking on it that would signal my acceptance of a new contract (Bell pulled that on me once before with Sympatico).
I just want a deal on a 5900 PVR. Is that so much to ask?

My reading of this promotion is that it only applied to people who are renting their equipment or on contract. If you own your equipment.....you are on your own! (Somehow I think this is gramatically incorrect)

Which I do, but they're willing to give me 25% off $300 for a 5900 PVR, yet you can buy refurbished ones for $149.
There is something wrong with their web page too, I'm stuck in an endless sign on loop.
