6-DISC CD PLAYER IN MAZDA 3 IS NOT WORKING , HELP?

I have a 2005 Mazda 3 and the cd player should be able to hold 6 discs and i can only get one in. Ive made sure there is not already 6 discs in , and ive followed the instructions in the owners manual, What do i do ? i have a 2006 mazda 3 cd player, should i swap them out or am i just not doing somhting right
