(CNN) -- A 6.9 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of New Zealand on Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter was about 35 miles (57 kilometers) south of Wellington, New Zealand, the USGS said. The quake struck at a depth of 6.3 miles (10.1 kilometers).
No tsunami warning was issued.
