...out today I'm pregnant?!? I am 11 weeks pregnant. This morning the tattoo was slightly red and tender in certain spots. Now, this evening it seems to have a distinct red outline to the tattoo area, still tender, it itches slightly but I haven't scratched and there are no red bumps/pimples. It also seems to be "oozing" in some spots, but not throughout the tattoo.
Last night I washed it and put lotion on it and went to bed, after taking the bandaging off. this morning I washed it, put lotion on it, washed it in the afternoon and put A&D on it and will wash it in the shower tonight and put more A&D on before bed.
The redness and tenderness is worse towards the top of it (closest to my elbow crease) and more to the left side than right. I have 4 other tattoos and each healed differently. The one behind my ear was mainly tender but no redness and healed quickly, same with my ankle and the one on the back of my neck. But the one on my wrist got red and had a bunch of red bumps/pimples that spread down my whole forearm, on both sides of my arm. I used neosporin on that one, per the artists instructions, only to find out later that was not a good ointment to use.
This one is by far the biggest one I have so I expect it to be sore, but the redness worries me. That and the fact I'm pregnant, which I wasn't 100% sure about until today when I went to the doctor. And of course, as most doctors, let alone OBGYN's, they didn't have much advice to offer about the tattoo. So I'm wondering if this is normal or perhaps an enhanced reaction due to being pregnant.
