.5mg xanax doesnt work but 1mg does is this ok?

i was prescribed .5mg xanax from my doctor for panic attacks. i was previously on Ativan 1mg and it worked well i switced because of the onset time.

I had a panic attack took the .5mg xanax and i felt nothing
Another time i took1mg and it worked great for me is it because my weight that .5mg diddnt work i weight 225lbs somone give me feedback please i want to know what to tel my doctor is this normal
 
How long and often did you take Ativan?

You may need a higher dose on xanax because a tolerance has built up.

If this is the case you should not take any benzos.

Your weight is not be significant enough to explain why .5 is not working.
