5500 Headset Problem

Just unwrapped my new 5500 this weekend, quite impressed apart from the fact that when you have the bundled headset on to listen to mp3's/radio I would expect any inmcoming call/text alert to ring in the headphones. But sadly the headphones just go silent and the handset itself rings. Is this usual, have been through the manual but cannot find anything?

no, this is not normal...

check which profile is active when headset is on, and check the profile itself...

The phone recognises it has a headset attached. And from the menu there is enhancements section where you can add an an existing profile to the headset, there is not a default headset one. For example if you have general, you get the ringtone through the headset and the phone, select silent and you get no sound out of either.
