Dempsey; what other fish to get? hello,

the question says it all im looking for another cichlid or maybe a pair. just looking for suggestions...
 
I'm getting a 55 gal tank and was looking into getting JD but you can only keep one in that size tank. No other large fish no small fish that could be food. I was thinking one JD and a cool pleco.
