5 days after ESI and pain again

Does anybody know what the next step may be for my treatment? I had MRI with contrast, found 2 bulging disks, one pinching a nerve, and I also have facet joint arthritis. I have nonstop low back, buttock pain that was way better for a very short time and is worse again. Sitting is hard, standing for too long causes pain to go into my hip and makes my back pain way worse. The pain relief lasted a day or 2 and now is back. I am just not bent over as much. I have appt. with PM doc to see how this went on May 4th but have had these before and am going in sooner as I see it didn't help as much as it should have. Do they normally send you to PT, accupuncture? And do you know the average outcome of this treatment? Thankyou for any info.

You usually have 2-3 weeks to get the full effect from an ESI. That's why they have made the appt for May 4th giving time for the sterioRAB to work. Sometimes the Dr. will do a 2nd one if you had some relief from the 1st one.

Also, it may take another type of injection, facet joint injection or something to work for you. It can be a trial an error sort of thing unfortunately. Just take it easy and let it work. Don't overdo it if you start feeling better, that's what folks will do and then you're back to square one.

I'd try ice too, 15-20 every hour, being sure to have a towel on the ice pack, under Dr.'s advice of course.
