Has anyone succeded? Please tell me how. I?m getting a corrupt minisd card message and when I try to format it nothing happens. The card is OK. I tested it in my computer (format, read, write).

Unless it's something specific to symbian OS then 4gb should be the same as 2gb. Most devices only say they support 2gb but 4gb cards still work. Supported just means the manufacturer has tested it with 2gb card.
I don't have my E62 yet but it's on the way and I was planning on ordering a 4gb card...I guess I'll let you know if it works or not.

The new 4gb cards are "SDHC" whereas the 2gb ones are only "SD". The "HC" difference stands for High Capacity, and is different. It requires updated firmware that tells the card reader in the phone how to read the card, as that portion is different. So it's merely a software difference, not a hardware one.

That being said, as mentioned above, there isn't a Nokia on the market right now that can handle these new HC cards (in fact I have yet to hear of any phone that can use them).

;8805314']Wasn't there a user on here that proved the N80 to "accept" the 4gb Topram card? I'm not sure if he said it worked 100% or not, but I do remember him posting a pic of the phone's memory manager and it clearly said 4gb available.

There have been a few scattered people saying that it worked, but it was always very shaky, meaning it wasn't solid and was subject to corrupt randomly. At least that's what I remember pulling from it. And with as much stuff as on my memory card, I definitely don't wanna chance it becoming corrupted.

The only difference between SD and HCSD cards is the file format used - there are no hardware differences between them. That applies to all incarnations of the SD cards: regular SD, mini SD, and micro SD. Read the following article for a clear explanation of the whole SD HCSD confusion:

So now that we all understand the difference between the two card fomats and between the FAT16 and FAT32, there were a few HoFo members that reported that at least the E61's and N80's with latest versions of firmware are able to read and write to cards formatted with FAT32 format but only with 4KB cluster size. These reports though were never really completely confirmed so the whole thing is still really up in the air as far as I understand it. If anybody here can shed some more light on this, it would be great. I would be very interested in being able to use a 4GB or bigger memory cad in my next phone.

I was looking for some freeware for my friends Motorola Q in www.qusers.com where I stumbled upon someone in their forums claiming that their handset was able to read/write to a 4GB minisd card. Apparently, the card he had was a FAT32 formatted one, and NOT the High Copacity model.

I'll go back and try and find the blog and post it so you all can see what i'm talking about. Perhaps because the architecuter of the Motorolas are different from the Nokia's that their able to do this? Who knows. The individual in question posted the item number where he got it off eBay. Check it and see what you think. I'll find that blog!
