I recently bought a 4GBminiSD card(SAMSUNG) for my N73... as expected it did not work. Phone started acting up as soon as I inserted the card. It was freezing left & right finally after 5-6 mins it showed up 3.7GB available. I was excited & thought it's working! I tried to open up the camera.. it started freezing again. I tried to reboot few times without any luck. Finally phone started displaying that the memory card is currupted. I tried to format to FAT16 on my laptop. Still no luck hence returned it back. Thought I would share here incase anyone is trying to get a 4GB card...

Guess it doesnt work then....bummer! I'm sure that those results are going to be the same for the N80 despite what the Topram guy says. He claims it only works on one specific FW for the N80 and all others are out of luck. I hardly call that "supporting 4 gigs". He also only shows it recognizing that there is 3.? gigs available much like yours did but now I'm certain that it doesnt work. Thats too bad as he was desperately trying to show people it worked. Reading it and showing available space doesnt mean it's working. I hope no one got hooked into his BS and plunked down the money for that POS.

Thats right. Nokia is not making the phones compatible beyond 2GB cards Now I am wondering what will we do with N95 with all the features GPS, DVD like videos & Music player when we can't put more than 2GB cards??

Wirelessly posted ( DH N93 Black w/SU-8W Keyboard: Mozilla/5.0 (SymbianOS/9.1; U; en) AppleWebKit/413 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/413)

what is the fw on your phone?

i wonder why they dont work, memory is memory and i think it should all work. as for 4gb cards only reading 3.? thats just bout right cuse 1 gb isnt really 1gb... as for the n95 supporting 2gb cards only that might not be true, cuse rite now for micro sd i think they only go up to 2 gb rite now!! so we will wait and see.

as for rite now ill wait untill scandisk gets a 4gb card!!

^ the more memory the card has, the more power its going to suck out of the phone in order to support the card..well at least thats my theory~

Do any of you young folks remember back to the time when Windows couldn't access more than 20 GB (or whatever the limit was) at a time and we had to partition the drives?

Where was that limitation? In the O/S of course.

So, isn't it possible that until a firmware upgrade comes along, 2 Gb might be the max for now?

My Pearl only supported 1gb at first but RIM added support for 2gb in the firmware updates. Hopefully Nokia will add support for the 4gb in a future update.

Yeah. 2GB is the limit now for N73. In the future FW updates.. "may be" it will allow 4GB but with the slow camera response.. I doubt if 4GB is a worth using it???
