Hi all.....just thought I'd chime in, I had originally posted right after my surgery about my distended belly area...I had ALIF as well as partial laminectomy/diskectomy on Jan 20th, so incisions on front & back, had 12 staples in the back. I have a corset/brace I wear when not laying in bed. My follow up was supposed to be last Wednes, but I just really didnt feel ready & that along with my busy dr, am going this coming Wednes. That one more week I've really gotten more energy back, find myself trying to do more & more things. I walk 30 mins on treadmill just about every day. I still wake up around 4 or 5 & have the really deep deep achy pain which i assume is from laying down all night & meRAB wearing off. I'm really anxious for this coming appt to see what type now restrictions i'll have...havent driven this whole time. Finally figured out a way to shave my legs ! It's just hard to not bend or lift or twist and I'm ready to be completely healed, so its frustrating this takes a while....

Hey Gocassey! I just had my l4-l5 fusion with hardware pl and corrected pars defect at S1 and stabilization at l5-S1... How did you shave your legs?! I'm so hairy I'm dying here lol! I have been driving since day 5 post op and I can walk very leisurely but can't seem to walk at a steady faster pace for more than 12 minutes at a time. Did you have pain your hip after surgery? If so, does it go away?

hi ! I still havent driven, does that hurt if you have to brake suddenly or anything ? also wondering about getting into my car, sable which is lower & smaller than my husbanRAB old SUV that may be easier getting in & out. As far as my "manlegs" as i was calling them and OMG right? I sat on the edge of my other bathroom when I realized it had the removeable shower head & then just propped my leg up on the wall, it was NOT easy & hurt but my legs were shaved :)

I'm a pretty good driver and haven't had to brake suddenly yet. I wear my brace when I drive and it seems to help. Also reclining a little in the seat is good. I drive a small SUV and getting in and out is much easier that way.

When you are walking do you get a really bad pain in your hip almost like the muscle is going to burn off? I get that after 5 mins of walking and have to stop for a few seconRAB and then go... that is soo annoying.
