So for world history im supposed to pick four ancient civilizations that most influenced the way we, modern americans, think and act. so far i am think about:
Rome-- legal system
Greece-- philosophy & using reason to explain events
Judeo/Christian-- monotheism, one God, Jesus Christ, Christianity
Vikings-- travel sea to North America and other places

any tips, info, or suggestions??? i need help it on monday!!!
we havent studied the middle ages yet, so england is out... but thx anyway. any other civilizations???

Both Rome and Greece could also include governmental system. Democracy sprang from greece and our republic has MUCH in common with Rome's republic.

Judeo Christian isn't so much a civilization as a philosophy...the Judaic Civilization or Hebrew Civilization might be a better idea.

I agree strongly with the Roman and the Judeo-Christian ones!

also consider England, which isn't really ancient but they've been around for -freaking-ever and they pretty much got us off the ground.
And if it weren't for Amerigo Vespucci...:D

Vikings are weak, More influence were native american, who helped with farming and agriculture
