van was running great when I bought it, which was this last month, we put less than 230 miles on it around town an it broke down an left us stuck. when trying to turn it over immediately after stalling out an dying, flames shot out of the throttle body. since then, we have put on a new timing chain (the old one was noticeable stretched after inspection upon removal), a new serpentine belt an a new starter on it, an have adjusted the time numerous times. every time it seems we have the timing dead on, it'll start right up, but try to die immediately. if we pump steadily maintain pumping gas to it, it'll run. soon as u let off, it dies. an if u floor it, it doesn't really surge like it should, or idle up.
This is driving me insane!!! lol
ok,we're still workin on this, we have the code key, an tried to read the codes, it's suppose to flash the 12 three times, an then flash codes, but, it is only flashing the same code of 12 over an over an over, does this mean that the computer is fried??
ok, when we removed the sensor on the valve cover, an then redid the read for the codes, it did the same thing. no matter what we did, it still flashed the same codes. we are going to test the fuel filter an pump later today, we are still leaning more toward the computer, sadly. more money to spend that I don't really have...but I am still trying to maintain a positive outlook.....
