3M Tank Protector

Anyone have the 3M stuff for the tank? I want to get some 3M stuff to protect my tank and the sides of it. I also would like some 3M stuff for the front. Any thoughts on this? I can't find where they sell this stuff online.

I use the 'tankslapper' on all my bikes...great stuff although the middle tank piece was a bit difficult to get a good application on the 1098...

I used the tankslapper stuff the day I bought mine. Easy to use and you can't even see its there. Highly recommended.

does it ever come off? like assuming you get nicks in it or whatever and you eventually want to remove it and have your fresh raw plastics...

ya, just heat it up with a hairdryer and slowly peal off to remove. The full kit is a PITA to istall without getting bubbles. It can be done though without a professional. If you are just doing the tank that is pretty easy. It's the curves and such (especially the nose fairing) that is hard. One thing to mention the full kit does NOT cover all the fairings, only strategic places (full nose, front sides, tank sides, some tail fairing, and front belly pans).
