3G 2100 (Asia) & 1900 (N. America) DUAL BAND-ABLE?

Technical question.

It appears that Asia has settled on 3G on the 2100 MHz frequency, and N. America's 3G is going to be on the 1900 MHz frequency.

1. Is there any chance a dual band 3G (NOT TALKING GSM HERE) will be created?

2. Is it possible through firmware (or some combo of hacking / cracking) to make one phone useable on 3G on either band.

I thought that the Nokia N80 was dual-band WCDMA. Was I mistaken?

According to what I've read...there are TWO versions of the N80. One built for N America (1900 MHz 3G) and one built for the rest of the 3G world (2100 MHz 3G).

I'm hoping to find a way to get one phone to "switch over" for when I travel much like todays Tri and Quad band GSM phones do. Even if it means a firmware flash.
