...anyone been in similar situation? Hello, I am 38 weeks + 2 days pregnant. I developed pregnancy-induced hypertension at 34 weeks and was hospitalized for two days for monitoring. My BP at the time (at it's worst) was about 150/105 but went right down at the hospital. My platelets were down also at that time, at 105, which they didn't like. BP stayed down and platelets went up slightly so I was sent home to 'take it easy' but wasn't given any real restrictions. At 36 weeks, I developed Bell's Palsy and the right side of my face became essentially paralyzed. I was also sent to triage that week for increased BP and placed on bed rest.
I have been on bed rest at home for 2.5 weeks and going in for weekly non-stress tests and ultrasounds. The baby has been testing fine. BP has been staying around 140s/90s at worst. 24-hour protein tests have been just below 300 units (which I was told anything above 300 indicates preeclampsia).
A couple of questions --
1. If any of you have had Bell's Palsy during pregnancy, what was your recovery like? I have seen little improvement in 2.5 weeks.
2. If you had similar 'borderline' blood pressure and protein measurements during your pregnancy, how long did they keep you going? Did they induce you?
I'm trying to be patient, but between the bed rest, bell's palsy and everything else, I'm getting anxious to know there's an end in sight!
Thanks for any input....
