360, live connection?

if you have a 360 core what exactly is required to go live,
i bought a hard drive, a bridge router, a modem,
but the 360 still says not connected, could it be my isp,?.
in all honesty i know sodall about the connection side of it,
so keep your answers simple, thanks
 
Live is down for today.. also, unless you have the wireless thingy mer do dad, you will need an ethernet cable.

also you troubleshooter should tell you the problem. next time you fail to connect it should give you the option to troubleshoot.

Failing that, you are a moron and you havent plugged it in.

Seeing as you posted this 2 minutes ago, Xbox Live is down today for around 8 hours, so you may want to go on their website - www.xbox.com - but I think it will be online again in around 4 hours. IF you can go online on your computer, but just cannot get online on your xbox, dont worry - Xbox Live is just down for a few hours today, every Xbox Live user got a message about this on their console prior to this day last week.
 
You need broadband connection then a router to connect your wired or wireless connection to your xbox 360. Then create a profile on xboxlive then your all set.
