3587i pc suite errors

i recently bougth a dku-5 data cable off ebay, the cable itself is not nokia brand, but is made to work with nokia phones, yet neither pc suite or OPM will even recognize my phone, they refuse to even show that their is a phone connect... any ideas?
 
i also just noticed that pc suite wont let me change the setting for the usb connection
