I have been working with my recruiter for the past couple of weeks trying to find a job that is available in my area. I had picked a couple of mos's that I was interested in with my top pick as a 42A (human resources). This was not available and so he went to my second pick which was a 27D (paralegal specialist), this is also not currently available. My recruiter said that a position that was open was a 31E (Internment/Resettlement Specialist).
Today I went through MEPS for my physical and we picked a slot for the 31E which would be leaving in October. I have not yet signed my contract and so I am assuming that if I am not interested in this position that I can tell my recruiter to find me something else and cancel the tenative slot we have reserved.
My two questions are: What are the pros and cons of this position AND can I cancel the tenative slot I have set up if I am not happy with the choice I have made with the 31E?
****Just as a side not, I have NOT signed a contract. We are in the process of doing a family care plan. My recruiter is in the hopes that we can sign the contract by next Wednesday. Obviously if I am not happy with this position, I will not be signing anything.
