3100 Force Update

I have searched...but cannot seem to find how to force an update on a 3100 that has been out of the stream for awhile.

Anyone.......
 
I logged in to Bell.ca and requested a rehit on programming. Solved the problem in about 2 minutes.
 
Go in the menu and make sure that at updates it says whithout my permission

Put your receiver at channel 198, then power it off...

You will then see a bar on screensaying vital programm information is now being downloaded to your receiver, do you touch or disturb, meanning the new software is downloaded.

When the bar reaches the end open the TV and talam! New version is there
 
Yeah exactly what Ex Agent EV said. Or go into the Menu, System Setup, Installation, Point dish and put it on transponder 13 and Power off.

I believe channel 198 is actually on transponder 13, so same thing ;)
 
Changing the transponder actually doesn't do anything. As soon as you exit the menu, the receiver switches to whatever transponder is required to view the channel you are watching. Setting the transponder is a temporary setting to view the strength when on that screen only.

In addition to the information posted above, it is a good idea to clear the memory of the receiver by pushing and holding the power button on hte front of the receiver until it reboots (about 10 seconds).

If your receiver doesn't update within an hour, there is something more seriously wrong.......
