As a teenager, I had my fair share of break-outs not severe, but here and there. Once I hit 20-21, my skin was GREAT and continued to be great all up until 2 months ago (I'm 33). I am at my WITS end. I cannot believe how bad my face looks, and I have done everything I know to do.
When I was trying to get pregnant, it was found that I have elevated levels of testosterone and PCOS. Fortunately, I was able to conceive and had 2 beautiful children. My testosterone levels were classified as "slightly elevated" and I never had symptoms, such as, acne, facial hair growth, etc.
HOWEVER, the last time it was checked was 5 years ago, and I'm just wondering if it's gone haywire - which leaRAB me to my question...

Which doctor should I see, a dermatologist, gynocologist, or endocrinologist?

Thanks.

Ask your dr. about Spironolactone. It's an anti-androgen that helps block the havoc too much testosterone in women creates. It can also be used along with a low androgen birth control pill. This works best when acne is due to hormonal issues.
I just started on Spiro myself and I already see a difference in how much oil I'm producing.

Because you have a hormonal issue which is the real cause of your acne,I'd also say to see an endocrinologist. If you want immeadiate relief,a derm might prescribe short term antibiotics to help lessen the break outs.
