3 months till possible marine training boot camp?

I am thinking of joining the marines and if I do decide to go foward with this huge descion would go in about 3 months or so. have been running doing pushup, crunches, weight lifting... lots of physical actvity but even though Ive seen improvement the core part of my body seems to not be strenghting as quickly. To get myself ready for camp am going to up all my exercise... running in the morning 3 miles and interval running/sprinting in the evening along with pullups and pushup and crunches everyday except one a week for rest. Also lifting weights monday/ wensday/ and friday. Ive heard that its good to push yourself to the brink to get ready I just want to build up my strength so I can do more pullups ( the weakest part of my workout right now) Is this a good plan and please explain.. Thanks
