So my gynecologist told me that I could use the Nuvaring for 3 months (replacing every 4 weeks) without having a period and then taking a break for a week after that cycle and continuing on another 3 month cycle. Well I decided to try it. After 4 weeks I took my nuvaring out and replaced it with a new one. Since doing so though, every time I have had a hard work out (running) I have bled. This has never happened before. I'm only in my first week with this ring and I don't want to take it out now in order to get back into my regular cycle because that would be a waste of a ring! Does anyone with experience with the 3 month nuvaring cycles know why this could be happening or did it happen to you? One of my main reasons for being on bc right now is to NOT have sporadic bleeding! I have been on the Nuvaring for 2 and a half years and never had a problem. I was replacing it every 3 weeks like directed. My gyno said that I could do the 3 month cycles though in order to avoid my period.
