im a teenager

1. for the last 2 days or so, i've been feeling like i can't think clearly. Last night, i almost felt like i completely got lost somewhere for a few seconds, almost feeling like my brain may have shut off or something. When I was in the shower last night, i had thoughts about how i may be going mental o something, but i started thinking about something else and i started to feel better mentally. Today, my Dad is at work, but i couldn't really convince myself for some reason that my dad is at work. doctors have told me within the last 2 months or so that i have stress/panic attack related issues. Is this thing about my mental health dangerous? what can i do to get better

2. I've been notiing for like a month now that i'm starting to fee kinda scared when it's dark. Why is this happenening, and what can i do to make myself ffeel better?

3. I had my heart examined thoroughly on Thursday, as i went to a heart specialist and got ultrasound (i;m prety sure it was ultrasound) and another test done where they examined everything i my heart. everything turned out to be good. My doctor later asked me questions about my heart later, and he said everything is good. However, i forgot to tell him like 3 things about my heart: there's some type of sound in my chest/heart sometimes although not often (also happen when i yawn sometimes), heart stopping for a second, and how in the past i've woken up at night with a weird feeling in the heart, like my heart is getting scared or something (the eeling when u get scared). Is this anything important, or is my heart fine?

1. There are a lot of things that could be affecting how you are feeling. Have you been getting enough sleep recently? Has there been any large stressor in your life recently? Is anyone around you sick/could you be getting sick?

2. Are you scared when it gets dark outside or when it gets dark i.e. in your room? What is the source of your fear, are you afraid someone may be hiding in the dark or something else, like that you may trip and fall in the dark?

3. They do ultrasounds of the heart similar to how they do ultrasounds of babies, like you see on tv, with the plastic handheld instrument that they move around on the skin, and there is cold goop on the skin to facilitate the plastic instrument moving. It does not hurt. It sounds like you are having heart palpitations which are not uncommon alongside anxiety, especially during a stressful time in your life. I don't know what you mean by sound in your heart, but palpitations are generally benign (scary feeling but not problematic in the long term) unless you are feeling dizzy when it happens. Your breathing, especially during deep breathing by yawning, changes pressure inside your chest which can slightly alter your heart beat, and that's a normal thing. However, again, if you are feeling other symptoms like dizziness during these episodes, you can call your doc's office and let them know this information and ask the doctor's thoughts on these.

1. i've been getting around 8 hours of sleep recently, so i think that's fine because thats my usuall amount. no one around me is sick. However, the huge stressor for me has been my anxiety/heart/panic attack type of problems. am i actually gonna go crazy though? is something serious gonna happen to me? that's what i really wanna know

2. i've been getting scared a bit even when it's dark in the room. there's isn't really a source of fear, i just start feelig sad and a bit scared when it's dark. it may be that i feel like no one will be able to help in the dark if something happens to me.

3. i just get minor dizziness sometimes whenever something happens to my heart, i never actually faint though. I do feel some weakness however, but again i dont faint.

hahas,

All of the things you have mentioned can be tied to the panic attacks that the doctor said you have been experiencing. The sudden fear of the dar, your heart racing, losing track of your thoughts. All of htese things can be caused by stress and panic attacks.

You are NOT going crazy and this -in the major scheme of things - isn't terrible serious. You can get help for this. Please make sure that your dad does get you help for this. A combination of counseling and meds can do a world of good.

good luck!

thank u so much, i really appreciate it. One other thing i need to mention is that sometimes when i feel like im gonna go crazy it happens when im outside in the cold weather. also, sometimes i don't feel real, as in i don't feel like im actually in the place that i am. Also, when it's night sometimes i can't seem to convince myself that it's night. Also, some stuff that happened hours ago feels like like it happened a day ago. Is this all the same stuff that you were talking about and it being nothing dangerous?
