29 gallon fish tank! HELP!?

ok im starting my freshwater fish tank OVER again. my brother dumb bird food in it n killed all my fish.... >=(. any way i wanna have fluorite black substrate and i already bought 1 bag that's 15 pounds or 7 kilo. and i need to know how much more i need. i just ordered another one from the online store and ended up getting a bag that wasn't really large and i thought it needed more. anyway can anyone who has this exact substrate tell me how much i need. and y is the bad like almost half empty ? lol ty sooo much n i went on to a website were the black sand was cheaper then the flourite black! lol. also if u could recamend a website wear they sell this substrate really cheap. ty! or free cheaping. like for this month! ty
 
I personally am a fan of bare bottom tanks or medium size riverstone, but thats not for everyone :-)

Usually, I go with .5 lbs per gallon. I try to use as little bottom decor as possible because it is difficult to keep clean, and people don't realize that it limits how heavily you can stock your tank.

For example, by the time you add substrate and decorative wood or rock, that may take out a good 5 gallons of displaced water. This may not seem like a lot, but in a 29 gallon tank, it makes a difference.
