2701HG-G modem works unfiltered, but then the phone line gives static and filtered

New member
there is no DSL connection.? We recently rearranged our family room and until then the internet worked fine. On moving the computer across the room the DSL light stopped working while the phone line is filtered, but obviously without a DSL filter the landline is fuzzy.

We're using a much longer phone line to reach the computer in its new location, but I can't see how that would be an issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
