2700 without a smartcard....

Hello I just got a used 2700C receiver and it has no smartcard. Will I be able to hook it up? Can I get a new smartcard from somewhere?
 
Don't waste your time throw it away and buy a new 4100 and save yourself a big hassel. A new card is 69 bucks from bell, and the previous owner has to call bell to transfer ownership to you.

You can find good deals on used receivers wih smartcards here sometimes here in the selling thread.
 
If you wish to open a new account with that receiver Bell will charge you 69$ for the new card + 35$ for the transfer of the receiver. If the previous owner did ot call in you won't be able to activate the receiver. Also if the software was not the last version it is very possible that the new card will not work, and the 69$ is not refundable. By opening an account with an old receiver it mae you uneligible for the new client's promo, they only applies to client who buys or rent a NEW receiver from Bell Express Vu or one of their autorised dealers

Even if you wanted to use it as an extra receiver on an existing account I don't think it's worth it...the card will cost you 69$ with no guarantee that it would work, no return if it dosn't while 3100 are often for sale on the internet for 65$, sometimes less

By the way my uncle has 2X3100 for sale, interested?
