262 color TFT display vs 65k

After searching the forums I couldn't find any info on what seems to be a screen downgrade. All the new walkman phones and even the cybershot have 262 color displays. My two year old T637 has a 65k color display. I'm debating getting a new phone, but why would I want to downgrade to a screen with less than a hundreth of my current display quality? Any help is appreciated.
 
I don't understand. You say you don't want to downgrade your screen, but if you upgrade your phone, your not downgrading it - your upgrading it. 262,000 colours are MUCH better than 65,000!

Did you think it read 262 colours? That's just short for 262,000. 65K stands for 65,000 colours.

Think of it another way. If the specs don't make any sense to you, go to the store and ask them to put a W810 next to your T637, for example. I tell you, my eyes can't tell apart 262K of colors but all that matters is the "Wow" in the end.
