24'' girl bike cruiser without linear pull brake?

Im moving to California, and I want to buy a bike to go to places. I found this cruiser bike, which is very cute, but it does not have a linear pull brake. I want a bike with a linear pull break. Im going to ride the bike in the street. So im just wondering, do you think it is really necessary to have a linear pull brake when Im riding in the street? The bike I found does not have a linear pull break yet it have a coastal break. So can anyone tell what I should do?
 
If you are not going to be a hardcore biker, and let's face it, the way you formed your question you will not. I think you go ahead and buy the cute bike that you like and add a hand brake if you would like after you ride it for a while.

Personally I think the coaster brake will be fine for you.
