Fox.com and Degree have created an online animated web-series called 24: Day Zero which looks at events taking place before the first season. The first three webisodes/episodes are already online, and they seem to appear online on a weekly basis.

24: DAY ZERO

Synopsis: There is a time in every man's life when he can either play it safe, or take a risk. Jack Bauer never plays it safe. See how it all began . . . introducing 24: Day Zero.

I can't believe they actually managed to get Keifer Sutherland to voice Jack Bauer on this. The story has some interesting elements so far, but I dislike how short they are. Basically when yuo take out the recap it's 1 1/2 minutes that's supposed to cover 10 minutes to 40 minutes, and having that much time lapse can be a problem when you're trying to make an interesting story. Not having too much time lapse is what made the Clone Wars shorts and the Smallville shorts as successful as they were.

I don't think this is exactly going to be a groundbreaking series. I guess I should be trying to divorce myself from the series portrayals of these characters, but it's kind of hard to ignore how different Tony looks, how different Mason sounds, etc. especially when they're not really giving me any time to get used to it. In fact, there doesn't seem to be enough time to develop much of anything here.

Part 4 is now up, and it should be no suprise that Nina is the mole. It was a bit of a surprise since she seems so loyal to Jack in seson 1, but knowing what happens in seasons 2 & 3 makes it a bit obvious. I'm surprised they had a 2 week delay though before they put up Part 5.

I watched Part One.

I will not watch any of the others. This has no business being associated with 24. Just like Teri's amnesia, Kim and the cougar, and roughly 80% of Season 6.

Season 7 really has be salivating though at would could be. Jack, totally rogue, just going around the world saving millions of people while killing millions of others trying to kill those first mentioned millions.
