I'm new to this, board but I have a question I was at 20mg at my local clinic and they started detoxing me cause I felt it was time for me to move forward with my life. I was a Heroin and Coke addict, and I have been clean from Heroin and Coke for 3 1/2 years now. But I always wondered Methadone is the same because I needed it to function for work at my personal life with my daughter and my finance. So when I left the clinic and decided to not come back anymore I was at about 11-8mg of Methadone Liquid. I took a week of work for vocation but mostly was to plan to get the Methadone of my system today is day 8 and yesterday was my first day back and my body/mind just could not take it and being that I work most of the day outside I had chills at some points it was BAD. I have not been sleeping at all in the past few days either. Like I said today is day 8 and it is friday, I have the weekend off so do you think by Monday I will feel a lot better. Like this morning I woke up and feel a lot better but still at some points I get those annoying chills. When it happens it just brings me back again. Any advice please!

I am sorry, I have no experience with methadone but I wanted to show you some support! I hope that you make it thru this and get your life back! It does sound like you have a lot to live for so good for you!!!

I am sure this has been tough but you are already on day 8!!! WOOOHOOO!! That is SO GREAT!

Keep in touch!! I know there are others who have been on methadone before so hopefully they can answer your question!

Sending some strength your way!

thanks for the support, Like I feel a lot better but I guess at times it comes back to me again, either when I get chills and last night was actually great cause my job had a xmas party and the hole night was great did not think of nothing but just having fun and dancing. It felt like a new me

Thanks for the support again!

hey! great news - you're doing brilliantly (a lot better than i did!). Just keep on plodding on the way you are. There may be some side effects - chills/sweats, restless legs, sleep problems - but they do get better each day. By the New Year you'll be a new man. Just keep thinking of that daughter of yours & it'll remind you why you are doing this.

I wish you all the very best

congratulations & welcome to the 1st stage of getting your life back :)

keep on keepin on
