2011 Ultra disappointing

I too am disapointed in the 2011 line up only a few changes minor and the colors who picked them? YYYYuck!! HD also sends out HD Surveys by e mail to us owners that we answer question that I thought would be used towards 2011 Model Development! My feelings is the Motor Co doesnt listen to owners and what they want and or suggest only what the Motor Co wants us to by and shove it down our throats!! They asked about the engine upgrade package , would I be intrted and what would I be willing to pay for that upgrade I said $500 and they want $780.00 What they should have done was offer a total package, ABS Security, the engine Upgrade, and Cruise control in the package for $1995.00 on all touring bikes not just a couple like they have done. The Motor Co only is intrested in selling us what they want to not what we want. They also just put out new accessories copying the ideas of aftermarket Companys trying to put the little guys out of business!! Copying their Ideas! Imagined if the little guys copied the Motor Co's ideas theyd have their Lawyers on those companys in a minute!! I know thats business but!! My 2 cents!!
Ill keep my 08 EG Classic for now unless I see a leftover at a price I can't refuse!!

I guess you missed all the improvements they did in 2009 (after 27 years).
So I guess for the next changes, you'll have to wait until the 2036 models.
 
Whoa! Slow down!!!!
HD is in a world of hurt financially and barely hangin on. To devote tons of capital into development for the latest gadgetry (read Goldwing) would be market suicide. High priced trinkets are not selling in this economy. Wake up! We're in a recession (at least), and lets face it, to 98% of us these are just leisure vehicles. Not a necessity.
Every dealer I've walked into over the last year (across the country) have a mere pitence of NEW floor models they had 5 years ago, and those they do have are not moving like they once did.
Yeah the new models aren't what we're used to, but neither are the times!
From a consumer standpoint they are minor. But from a business standpoint, HD is in survival mode, and I for one would like to see them around for at least the rest of my lifetime.
For some of you who don't understand basic business sense, HD is in this to make money, and believe me, they've done their homework to do that!
I'm impressed with the way they listen to their customers from year to year. nearly every major flaw or issue is delt with the following year (for the most part). As well as options on new models.
Yes the 11's aren't drastic revamps over the 10's, but most are, over the 06's and 07's.
I really wouldn't expect any major updates until the times dictate, and then I'm sure HD will be ready to capitalize once again.
 
I just dont get what people are expecting, a whole new bike every year?

Seriously. In the last 3 years we've got a new motor, frame, chassis, tank, brakes, suspension, wheels, and on and on.

Hell, It IS a whole new bike from where it was in 06!
 
I was kinda hopeing to buy a 2012 Ultra and keep my 2002 Ultra next year. However, if there is no really nice shade of RED, that ain't gonna happen. There are many, many colors that the MOCO have painted the Ultra with over the years that I really like. But for me, I don't really care for ANY of the '11 colors well enough to spend what it would take to put one of them in my collection. ........... Oh well, it's just money that I don't have anyway, SAVED!
