2011 FLHTK Additions....

Wondering if you guys can point me in the direction. I just traded my 04 FLHR w/ 85k miles on it and bought the 11 Limited Ultra. Of course now I am completely broke (again) yep the American HD Way! However I need to change the few things.

The stereo sirius / xm radio add on is 500$, anyone have it? Did you put it in? To take off the outer fairing I believe it is held on through the headlight and windshield but haven't messed with it as of yet. Suggestions?

Pipes? I want loud so of course I know I am going to get a bunch of answers on which ones are best; however need to start slow so if I got mufflers first, would it be worth to wait on the true duals?

Clutch seems to clank ALOT!

Probably missing a bunch on here but 300 miles down and want to get it going faster than slower but dealing w/ a new born is more expensive :-)

Thanks guys!

I have the xm in my bike, easy to install, also its easy to take off the fairing, your first purchase should be the service manual ,with that you can do a lot.

The xm is 500, but you also need to buy a wire harness which is $100.

I love my xm the exhaust you wil get 100 different answers I siuggest listen to other bike and find one you like,

Appreciate the response. I will be buying the manual as soon as I can get my hands on it.

I miss my Sirius and it's only been a week w/o! Radio stations SUCK!

I am trying to find other adds for it, just going to be slow goin

Ride safe

I put on the chrome toour pack hinges and the tour pack lid organizer, and a backrest. I say if your short on cash STAY OUT OF THE DEALER. haha

I got my XM from the classified on this forum. It may take a while for one to come up, but I saved 50% off the price of a new one.

I'm done with the loud pipes, can't help you there.

Never thought of looking on here. Guess the next post is who wants to sell theirs! And yes stay out of the dealer! Except for the service manual.

I also just picked up a 2011 FLHTK a couple weeks ago in the 2 tone Candy Rootbeer. I'll be putting on Vance and Hines Power Duals with the Hi output mufflers. Ordered them when I got the bike and still waiting for them to come in. I traded in my 04 Ultra with Rinehart true duals. Had 45,000 miles on the Ultra. Can't wait to get my pipes in for the Limited. Stock pipes suck. Sound like a Goldwing.

I first had the XM module on my 08 Ultra. When I purchased the 2010 Ultra Limited, I had it transferred from one motorcycle to the other. It is a costly system if you leave it on your current ride when you trade up, but I found it a good investment when you transfer it to your new ride.

I have thought about keeping the current radio and adding the kit; and like you said it's costly.

I have also thought about pulling the HD radio out and putting in the Sony conversion kit. If I do that I will still retain the controls on the bars. I am going to begin cost analysis but I believe if I go changing the stuff out for a different stereo then I will void everything in the dash which could prove just as costly.

Decisions Decisions

I have a 2010 Ultra Limited and also have been looking at xm module. Have put on order the Rineharts Slip-ons, Arlen Ness Big Sucker, and Super Tuner. So when I get back from Afghanistan I will install those.
