2010 Street Glide Exhaust

Hello all, I have just purchased a 2010 Street Glide with the sewing machine exhaust option. In other words the 2 into 1 factory exhaust sounds terrible. I have since purchased a Vance and Hines slip on. It sounds better but still terrible. My question is has anyone tried this exhaust, on the end there are 2 screws, if I remove these can I just remove the baffle? If so will I loose any power or any drawbacks from running just a straight pipe? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Lol except those that cost me more money since I now have a Harley payment.
Other than the exhaust tho, I love this bike. I am coming from a 04 Fatboy and this bike is more than I expected.

Welcome from York Pa. The FLHX is a nice bike.

On your pipes, I am not sure I would remove the baffles. It will sound louder but may affect your performance. With the 2010, the CAT is in the head pipe, what I did on my 2010, was replace everything. That gets rid of the cat or heat and you can then choose what pipes you want.

There are many posts on pipes for the 2010 X. What I did was keep the stock pipes on until I could replace them all. While I was saving for new pipes, that gave me some time to search for the pipes I wanted.

Agreed!...I had the open end cap installed on mine during the 5K and I could not believe the difference in sound and performance. The Harley Nightstick is actually a very nice slip-on for the money.

I installed the Vance & Hines High Output slip-on. It sounds better than the stock exhaust, but I wanted a little more rumble. I contacted V&H and asked the same question. If I removed the baffle sock how many more decibels would I get from the muffler, and would I have to remap the bike. I was told that I could expect about 10% more decibels, and that I would have to have the bike remapped for the extra decrease in back pressure. I chose to keep it the way it is. I really don't think it is worth the extra money and time just to get an extra 8 or 9 decibels.
