Okay- my parents are looking for a new car, and I'm helping them find a good one. Since their needs aren't much (running to the grocery store or the shopping mall) I was thinking that a hybrid might make sense.
Now- I've read the 2010 Honda Insight brochure (the litte round ones), and the MPG estimates are kinda disappointing- rated at just 40/43mpg. I've seen videos on youtube and car magazine sites- in ECON mode, the mileage bolts up to 65mpg. How accurate is this? I know many cars have an onboard mpg computer- these are very rough figures, and seldom reflect what's actually going on at the gas pump every week.
Does the new 2010 Honda Insight really deliver those great MPG figures, or is the 40/43mpg estimate accurate in real world driving?
