It is hard to say. It depends on the cost of oil and gasoline. I was able to get a 2000 Insight with low mileage for cheap. It is a quirky but great car. I have gotten up to 72 mpg on one tank of gas on a trip. It is so cool! Mine is the citrus green color. I just heard a terrible review of the new Insight.
I bet it is a really good car. I love Hondas. My other vehicle is an Acura. I even have a Honda lawnmower.
The new Insight may not sell well. The cars may sit and lose value in the next year. Save up and see what happens. I think the Prius is a fine car, but I'd take a Honda any day of the week over a Toyota. Hondas are faster and last just as long, needing little maintenance other than oil changes.
