Well I'm in a debate. I currently own a VW Passat from '03 with 133,000 mi that's becoming a nuisance to pay for. I've test driven the Ford Fiesta through harsh rain at night. It felt safe, which is weird for my experience with Fords. I drove the 2007 Civic Si used, and loved it! My wife doesn't drive stick but is willing to learn. So I know the Fiesta is new in the states but it's been around a long time. I know Hondas run forever. The Si requires Premium gas and synthetic oil if you want to take care of it which I do . The Ford Fiesta can take 87 octane and regular oil changes. I need to test drive the Fiesta during the day. Have yet to do that.

Thanks, I guess the truth is I fear buying new. I never have due to depreciation. The thing is there are several good cars out there. Fiesta, the new Sonata, and yes I loved the Si when I drove it. Truth is Ford hasn't had a good track record up until recent. The new Ford Focus looks great too. My passat is getting too expensive, so we don't have any particular car in mind, we just want to enjoy driving it and not worry so much at the pump or maintenance and parts costs
