Rav4's 4 cyl engine is underpowered.
the 6 cyl pushes the price to $30K
the the spare tire on the back is hazard and the side opening rear hatch is awkward.

Split the difference and get the 2009 Venza. Is basically just a Camry wagon. Can get it with either a 2.7 4 cylinder or a 3.5 V6. A hybrid is supposedly in the works as well.
